Tyrone Paul Lintner

After his sentencing to six years in the state penitentiary by Judge Rex Henry Ogle, Tyrone Paul Lintner never left the Sevier County Jail. Instead Chief Ron Seals, head over jail operations, made him a trustee with his own separate living quarters. He was allowed full run of the jail and was even allowed to drive a county vehicle to the airport to pick up his mother.

The Knoxville Journal did a story in 2001 entitled "Sevier County Sheriff's Department Employs Convicted Felon", which tells of his homosexual urges as well as suffering from bipolar depression disorder. Since that time, Lintner has been in complete charge of the jail kitchen and laundry as having his own unmarked Sheriff's department van to drive as his own. Although Sheriff Ron Seals claims his is only "kitchen help" and a "civilian employee" the twice-convicted felon almost daily takes young inmates away from the jail to be able to smoke cigarettes (against the rules completely) and visit stores to buy them special items at our county's expense. He, along with Captain Don Parton, Parton's wife and Parton's daughter (all Sevier County Jail employees) took over a dozen jail inmates in street clothing and UNSECURED to the Golden Corral for a Christmas dinner. This entire incident was video-taped from leaving the jail until their return and the tape has been turned over to a higher authority.

Since being in his position of authority over the inmate trustees, the hand-picked young men Lintner chooses to work in the kitchen, are allowed free reign around the jail and Lintner's authority, it appears supercedes, any of the corrections officers. The young trustees are treated to special privileges such as special meals, trips out of the jail and trips to the video stores. After being released should they be returned to jail, "Paul's boys" report directly back directly to him. At any given time he has his own group of about thirteen young men ( he is 66 years old) working under him in the Kitchen. There have been many claims of perverted activity occurring within the Sevier County jail originating with Lintner's actions. Numerous inmates have come forward with stories about Lintner's sexual perversions at the jail, but nothing has been done by Sheriff Ron Seals or Chief Larry McMahan to stop the acts. There are letters from inmates detailing some of these acts that can be read on this site. Seviercorruption.com is making all efforts to obtain and publish these documents.

Sheriff Seals says there is no problem because Paul "has a girlfriend". You can put silk on a boar hog, but its still a boar. I don't care if it does have lipstick!

Probably the most disturbing part of all this is that Tyrone Paul Lintner was said to be involved with a young inmate who mysteriously died in jail nearly three years ago. Seviercorruption.com has learned that Lintner tried to play down his role in that episode. But when confronted with evidence, he broke down in tears.

Tyrone Paul Lintner is in charge of making purchases for the jail. His actions of making purchases that included items that should not be used by inmates are well documented. (above is a link to an invoice from Food City. More invoices are to follow and will be posted for all to see.) Ms. Kim Pierce filed an Ethics Complaint about these purchases being made and supplied supporting receipts and documents. Like always, the Ethics Committee failed to investigate. Ironically, there are three members of the Ethics Committee with direct personal ties to the Sevier County Sheriff's Department.

Purchases using public funds that are being made by a know convicted felon who is known to have committed forgery and other crimes that involve taking money, is not a good idea in the opinion of Seviercorruption.com. It literally cries out to be investigated by the authorities. Where is the protection of the public from know criminals under the supervision of Sheriff Ronald "Hoss" Seals? Answer; It does not exist!

This all begs the question; Are members of our Sheriff's Department involved in criminal activity?

Sheriff Candidate Steve Layman filed a written complaint about the poor food quality being provided to the Juvenile detention facility he operates. Seviercorruption.com is seeking that record and will publish it as soon as it is obtained.
